Model of frigate "Vladimir"

Steamship a frigate "Vladimir" - the First Russian wheel 11 gun sailing steam ship of the Russian Black Sea fleet. The frigate is well-known for that on November, 5th, 1853 has entered the fight of the steam ships first in history. The frigate "Vladimir" attacked 10 - gun turkish steamship «Pervas -Bahry».
As the history of creation of the ship is interesting. According to English laws of 19 centuries, English ship builders had no right to build for other countries the steam ships. Therefore all Russian steamships frigates constructed in England were military contraband. The steamship "Vladimir" was possible to construct officially as a fighting steamship a frigate with steam machine of the increased power. And owing to that that by this ship Sovereign Emperor Nikolay Pavlovich only came back from the European travel to Russia!
